"bucegi" Natural Park (Access Sinaia) Sinaia

Natural Park Bucegi

Dating from 1943 (partially from 1932); surface 35,700 ha.

It includes:

Ø       Bucşoiu – Mălăieşti – Gaura Abrupt Rezerve: (IV) 1,634 ha.

Ø      Prahova Abrupt Rezerve: (I) 3,748 ha.

Ø      Ialomiţei  Rezerve (Bătrâna and Cocora Mountains):

Spruce fir (Picea excelsa) woods mixed with larch tree (Larix decidua) and arolla pine (Pinus cembra), as well as endemic olants; Karst relief in Ialomiţa Valley and Horoabe.

Ø      Zănoaga Rezerve (Zănoaga Mountains and Zănoaga Mare Gorges):

Preserving thermophile (sub mediterranean and baltic), species and century – old spruce fir woods.

Ø      Lăptici Peat. bog Rezerve – between Coteanu and Tătarului Gorges;

Ø      Babele Rezerve:

Preserves the relief produced by the erosion of conglomerate and limestone (Babele, Ciupercile, Sfinxul) and associations of alpine vegetation.

Ø      Omu Reserve:

Protects associations of alpine tundra vegetation with endemic plants of the Carpathians.

Ø      Strunga Valley Reserve – paleontological reserve.

Access: from Sinaia, Buşteni, Predeal, Râşnov, Bran, Fundata, Moroieni.
